Earth Day- Clothing Swap

One of my absolute favorite things to do is a clothing swap. Either with friends or dancers, I have been a part of several swaps and they have always turned out positive. Earth Day was April 22nd so the Dance Majors organized an inner department clothing swap. We often have leotards and spandex that we don't necessary want to donate due to their specificity, so sharing them between one another was a great way to reuse and recycle.

Here are some things to think about when holding a clothing swap:

  • Go through your closet seasonally. If you haven't worn it, donate it! Collect a pile gradually,

  • Don't forget about unwanted hair accessories, purses, shoes, and even old costumes.

  • Make sure what you donate is something you aren't attached to! Don't be an Indian giver and ask for it back!

  • Make sure to donate the remaining garments to a Goodwill! (p.s. you can write this off on taxes)
Have you received goodies from a clothing swap?

My Dirty Little Secret:(Shopping in the Children's Department) and Lilly Pulitzer for Target Recap

Hello Everyone!

So as you may know I was so very excited about the Lilly Pulitzer for Target Collaboration. My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday and took me to target right before it opened. ( he's the sweetest)
However.. I underestimated the madness...
People were knocking down other people. There was fighting and cursing... I tried to escape it all and dodge the clothes section, because my sanity means more than a piece of  brightly patterned clothing.
However, I was lucky enough to swing by the girls section, and I found the perfect summer top. Now I am very fortunate enough to be able to shop in the girls section, and honestly this isn't the first time I have done this #sorrynotsorry

On average girls clothes run about 20 dollars cheaper and if it fits right and looks cute, why not?

When I worked at old navy I used to plunder the girls section for cute sun dresses. The adult sizes always were a little long for me, so the girl's version was pretty much perfect!

Next time your looking for a way to save a couple bucks, look in the girls section, it might surprise you!!!

I styled my Boom Boom Tunic  with a pair of white jeans, and my these fab cork wedges.

I also picked up a Beach Towel, and a cute nosie posy headband. I love the headband, and this was something I had specifically on my wish list
great for messy hair days!

Have you ever shopped in the children's section? And what were your #LillyforTarget treasures?
